Netto Conquers Marysville

MARYSVILLE, Calif. — Marysville Raceway hosted winged 360 sprints and IMCA Northern sport mods as Northern California started a heat wave on Memorial Day.

Andy Forsberg set quick time at 13.756 for the 45-car field.  A quartet of invert four heats moved heat winners and the four fastest qualifiers to finish in the top four to a redraw for the first four rows of the 25-lap main.

Adding four from the B main completed the field with Alev Justeson and Forsberg redrawing front row spots.

Justeson led seven laps before Forsberg drove under the outlaw kart graduate into turn three a lap later.

Forsberg’s turn in the lead ended on lap 16 when he bumped a lapped car in turn four and Mitchell Faccinto took the lead.

The top four crowded into the low groove for a couple laps before D. J. Netto switched to a higher line and sped past Facvinto on the topside of turn two and led the final three laps for his second Marysville win this year.

Faccinto was second over Forsberg while Justyn Cox and Chase Majdic completed the top five.

A field of 17 sport mods ran a pair of heats prior to their 20-lap finale.  Todd Cooper used a front row start to take the win.
