Majeski Is Dick Trickle 99 Champ

WEST SALEM, Wis. — Night two of the 54th annual Oktoberfest Race Weekend at the LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway Friday night saw Ty Majeski capture the overall Dick Trickle 99 super late model stock car special.

Majeski, the 29-year-old NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series regular and five-time Midwest Tour champion, added his fourth “Trickle 99” title to his career resume.

Run in three 33-lap segments, the event saw Majeski score a win in the opening chase and grab two second-place finishes, trailing winner Johnny Sauter of DeForest, Wis., in the second and third legs.

Majeski wheeled his Gearheadz Racing/Brad Mannstedt-owned/Kafka Granite-sponsored Fusion No. 91 to victory in the opening 33-lap segment after battling Andrew Morrissey for the top spot. Majeski beat Morrissey with Dalton Zehr, Chris Weinkauf, Dan Fredrickson and Casey Johnson in pursuit.

Sauter claimed victory in the second segment, besting Majeski, Chad Butz, Johnson, Morrissey and Weinkauf. Sauter raced to the win in the evening’s finale ahead of a challenging Majeski, Zehr, Johnson, Ryan Farrell and Justin Mondeik.

The win and pair of seconds gave Majeski the lowest overall points score to claim his third straight “Trickle 99” crown.  Majeski’s fourth overall Dick Trickle 99 victory would tie Dan Fredrickson for the most titles in the event’s history.

Doni Wanat was the winner of the 20-lap ‘The Stubby’ for drivers that did not qualify for Trickle 99.

Wanat defeated Cameron Clifford and Mitchell Haver.

Jacob Goede won three out of four 20-lap feature races over two days of LaCrosse late model action — winning one on Thursday and two Friday. Speedster Skylar Holzhausen won the other main event on Thursday and wrapped up the NASCAR Kwik Trip late model track championship at the five-eights-mile paved oval during Friday’s competition.

Goede also won Thursday night’s 25-lap Knights super late model feature with Illinois’ Max Kahler winning Thursday’s Futures super late model headliner. Devin Schmidt won the 20-lap area sportsman feature with Tina Lodermeir winning the 12-lap division last-chance race.
