BRNO, Czech Republic – Petronas Yamaha SRT led the way during Friday’s opening day of practice for the MotoGP Czech Grand Prix at the Brno Circuit.
The field was led by championship leader Fabio Quartararo, who led the way with a 1:56.502 to edge out his SRT teammate Franco Morbidelli by .007 seconds.
Miguel Oliveira was third for Red Bull KTM, falling .048 seconds shy of the overall fastest lap of the day.
Johann Zarco was fourth overall for Esponsorama Racing, followed closely by Maverick Viñales of Monster Energy Yamaha in fifth.
The remainder of the top-10 were Joan Mir of Suzuki, Aprilia’s Aleix Espargaro, Pol Espargaro of Red Bull KTM, LCR Honda’s Takaaki Nakagami and Jack Miller of Pramac Racing.
Pramac Racing’s Francesco Bagnaia crashed during the opening practice and was later ruled out for the remainder of the weekend after being diagnosed with a fractured right tibia.
