Vinales Storms To MotoGP Victory At COTA

Maverick Vinales stormed to his first victory since 2021 after rebounding from 11th on the grid in Sunday’s MotoGP Americas Grand Prix at Texas’ Circuit of The Americas.

After starting on pole, Vinales dropped to 11th at the start of the race. However, after clawing his way back, he topped rookie Pedro Acosta by 1.728 seconds at the checkered flag. Enea Bastianini rounded out the podium finishers.

Marc Marquez, who’s won at COTA seven times prior, crashed out of the lead on lap 11.

Defending champion Francesco Bagnaia placed fifth in the event. After finishing fourth, Jorge Martin holds a 21-point lead over Bastianini.

Trackhouse Racing placed 10th and 11th in their home race with Raul Fernandez and Miguel Oliveira.Â
