BOONE, Iowa — While the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s was first run in 1983, the stock car class joined the program for the first time in 1988.
Steve Jackson, who has won the stock car portion of the annual event at Boone Speedway, five times, was the inaugural winner in 1988.
Devin Smith, a two-time race winner, is the defending Super Nationals champion in the stock car division.
While no driver named Smith has ever won the Indianapolis 500, Devin Smith and Donavon Smith have each won the stock car portion of the Super Nationals twice.
The stock cars will run qualifying features Sept. 9-11 with the class’ championship feature set as the penultimate event on Sept. 12.
All six nights (Sept. 7-12) of the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s will be broadcast live via SPEED SPORT TV affiliate IMCA.TV.
