Dumpert Flies At Off Road Speedway

NORFOLK, Neb. — Cory Dumpert erased a large gap between himself and Zach Zentner Wednesday at Off Road Speedway to capture the IMCA late model main event.

The pre-holiday special event drew 93 cars in five IMCA divisions with a large crowd filling the stands at the five-year-old quarter-mile track. Fireworks topped the evening.

Zentner redrew the outside front row starting spot and sped to a large lead for over half of the 25-lap late model finale.

Starting 10th, Dumpert kept closing gradually until reaching the leader on lap 14.

As the field rounded turn four to complete lap 15, Dumpert was first out of the turn to lead at the line.

The York, Neb., driver pulled away from that point to claim the $500 win while a battle for 2ndbetween Zentner and Travis Dickes included some side by side racing for several laps.

It was Zentner who eventually claimed the runner-up spot while Dickes settled for third.

The IMCA stock cars had an excellent 20-lap main before Shawn Primrose took that win.

In other IMCA divisions, Kyle Prauner won the sport mod finale, Lance Mielke won the hobby stock main from ninth starting spot, and the sport compact main went to Ramsey Meyer.
