Stark Shows The Way At Madison

OREGON, Wis. — Kyle Stark is no stranger to the Ring of Fire and has won his share of races.

But Friday may have been one of his more impressive wins as he started eleventh and in only four laps he was able to take the lead and pick up the win in the 30 lap feature for the Midwest Dash Series.

Chris Jackson and Brandon Junget paced the 17- car field to the green flag.

Jackson jumped out to the early lead, but Stark was the man on the move as he quickly worked his way up to second from his 11th starting position by the end of the third lap.

On lap 4, Stark raced his way past Jackson to take the lead.

Stark quickly built up a lead over Jackson with Phil Malouf, Scott Ciesielski, and Jeremy Bredeson running in the top five.

Both Malouf and Ciesielski passed Jackson while Stark was working his way through lapped traffic. On lap 13, Mark English passed Jackson to take the fourth position.

Out front, Stark was held up by lapped traffic which allowed Malouf to close the gap before the caution flag waved on lap 16 when two cars got together coming out of turn four.

The top three chose the inside for the restart which allowed Mark English to start outside the front row. Stark was able to continue to lead with Malouf and English battling it out for second which allowed Stark to increase his lead.

A great race for fourth place was occurring between Ciesielski and Karter Stark. On lap 22, English was able to get second, but had a lot of ground to close on Stark.

But Friday night it was all Kyle Stark who cruised to victory lane followed by English, Malouf, Karter Stark and Ciesielski.

“I wasn’t just going to sit around and stay in line,” said Stark from victory lane when asked about his charge to the front.

Brandon Riedner won the 25-lap feature for the Best in Wisconsin Shop Hobby Stocks. Riedner also won the 2021 Cheese Curd Cup.

In his first appearance ever at Madison, Andrew Borntreger won the 25 lap feature for the Legends Direct Legends feature.

Penn Sauter won the 15-lap feature for the Taylored Construction Bandoleros. It was his first-ever win at Madison for Sauter who became the third generation of the Sauter family to win a feature at Madison.

In his first visit in 2022, Ashton Kinsey started in the back row and went on to win the fifteen lap feature for the HSRA.

Brayden Lockington may have been the last car to arrive at the track, but he was the first car to finish in the second 15 lap HSRA feature and took home his first-ever feature win at Madison.
