WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Gunner Martin rolled to another A-Mod win to highlight the list of winners on Saturday night at Central Missouri Speedway.
Dustin Hodges was set to start from the pole position during the A-Mod race, but mechanical issues allowed Terry Schultz and Martin to start the final race of the night from the front row.
Schultz quickly shot out to an early race lead ahead of a strong and valiant effort by Kameron Grindstaff with Martin, Tim Karrick and Danny Scrogham inside the top five. While Schultz led by lap 11, Martin moved into second and left Grindstaff, Karrick and Brad Smith to battle for third.
By lap 12, Martin began closing in on Schultz up front and after a caution on lap 13 regrouped the field, Schultz held on to a lead over Martin. On lap 16, Martin found his way to the front with Schultz now second while Karrick took over third.
A late caution flag on lap 19 bunched the field one more time and over the final six circuits Martin stayed ahead of Schultz’s late-race charge to collect his third-consecutive A-Mod win.
Schultz was second, followed by Karrick, Grindstaff and Dean Wille, who moved up from 17th on the grid to finish in fifth.
Other winners on Saturday night included Aaron Poe in the street stock class, Steve Clancy in the B-mod division, Dillon Raffurty in mod lites and Nate Barnes in the pure stock division.
