Racing Returns To The Grove In Two Weeks

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. — Williams Grove Speedway returns to action on September 15 with the Billy Kimmel Memorial for Lawrence Chevrolet 410 sprint cars on VP Racing Fuels night presented by Komatsu.

The night will also feature the return of the Match Race for HJ Towing & Recovery 358 sprint cars with a total purse of nearly $21,000 set to be split between all 24 feature starters.

The 25-lap Kimmel race will be part of the Hoosier Diamond Series, paying $6,000-to-win.

There will be no racing at the track on September 8.

The month of September continues with Kiely Group Night on September 22 as the 410 sprints tune up for the upcoming Champion Racing Oil National Open in another Diamond Series race that will serve to crown the series champion.

Danny Dietrich and Brent Marks are currently tied for the lead in the Diamond Series point standings.

The race will also see the 358 sprint track titlist decided with one-time champion Doug Hammaker currently holding the point leader over three-time and defending titlist Derek Locke.

The season will then come to a close with the star-studded World of Outlaws Champion Racing Oil National Open on September 29-30.

Saturday’s 61st annual, 40-lap National Open main event will pay $75,000 to the winner and carries a raindate of October 1.
