29 Races Scheduled For 410 Sprints At Lincoln

ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. – Lincoln Speedway officials have put together a 34-race schedule for the new year, with 410 sprint cars as the headliner division on 29 occasions.

The three-eighths-mile dirt oval will host the inaugural Steve Smith Tribute Race on June 4 with a $19,000 winner’s share, now the highest-paying unsanctioned event at Lincoln.

Smith, a National Sprint Car Hall of Fame inductee and nine-time Lincoln champion, died last June at the age of 74.

The Icebreaker returns to kick-start another season on Saturday, Feb. 26 at 3 p.m., with 410 sprints racing for $5,000 to win.

The 358 sprint cars are set to appear 16 times this year and will take the track for the first time on March 19.

Both sprint car divisions round out the year, and point championships, on Oct. 15 with Turner Automotive Night of Champions.

As previously announced, the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series visits the Pigeon Hills in the Gettysburg Clash on May 11.

Furthermore, the All Star Circuit of Champions have two dates reserved in the $7,300-to-win Kramer Klash on Aug. 27 and $20,000-to-win Dirt Classic IX on Sept. 17, the track’s crown jewel event.

Lincoln will once again host round two and round four of Pennsylvania Speedweek on Saturday, June 25 and Monday, June 27, respectively.

As a primer for its pair of PA Speedweek races, the track has added the Freedom Off-Road Speedweek Tune-up that pays $5,000 to win on June 18.

Many events return to the schedule, such as the 19th annual Weldon Sterner Memorial paying $6,900 to win on April 9, the Bob Leiby Memorial on May 28, Fallen Firefighters Night on June 11 and the Barry Skelly Memorial on Aug. 20.

On April 23 during Gene Latta Ford Wheel of Fortune Night the winner of the 410 sprint car feature will spin a wheel that resembles the game show to increase their $4,000 winner’s share to either $5,000, $6,000 or $7,000.

The midgets will return to Lincoln twice this year on June 4 and Aug. 20 with ARDC, while the super sportsman make appearances on May 7 and July 16.

Additionally, the USAC East Coast Sprint Car series makes a lone appearance on June 4, accompanying the 410 sprints during the Steve Smith Tribute Race.

Super late models are penciled as the headliner division on Sept. 10 and Oct. 8.
