Appeals Panel Rescinds Penalty Against DGM & Labbe

CONCORD, N.C. – The National Motorsports Appeals Panel has rescinded a penalty against team owner Mario Gosselin and driver Alex Labbe.

Last week NASCAR penalized Gosselin, the owner of DGM Racing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, and Labbe after they took part in an SCCA event on the Daytona Int’l Speedway road course with a 2019 Chevrolet Camaro stock car.

In the penalty notice, NASCAR stated the team had violated the sanctioning body’s private testing policy.

However, in the National Motorsports Appeals Panel statement, the Panel came to the conclusion that Gosselin and Labbe had not violated the rules set forth in the penalty notice as it was written. As a result, the Panel rescind the original penalty assessed by NASCAR.

The Panel consisted of of Chuck Deery, Jay Signore, Kevin Whitaker.
