McCarty & Kvapil Share Motor Mile CARS Tour Loot

RADFORD, Va. – Bobby McCarty powered to victory with the CARS Late Model Stock Tour Saturday evening at Motor Mile Speedway, his second-straight series victory at the track dating back to 2019.

In the CARS Super Late Model Tour, Carson Kvapil earned his third victory of the season.

Starting from the outside pole, McCarty took command of the CARS Late Model Stock Tour feature early. He pulled out to a straightaway lead at one point, only for a caution flag at the halfway mark to erase his lead.

That was the chance second-place Justin Johnson needed. Using the outside lane, Johnson was able to pull into the lead briefly ahead of McCarty. The keyword was briefly as McCarty reasserted his dominance and pulled away to his second victory of the season in the No. 22 for Nelson Autosport.

Johnson finished second, with Mike Looney finishing third. Kaden Honeycutt and Jonathan Shafer completed the top-five.

Matt Craig led the first 40 laps of the CARS Super Late Model Tour 100-lap feature, but a decision to pit for adjustments during a competition caution handed the lead to Kvapil.

That was all Kvapil needed as he dominated the remaining 60 laps to tighten the battle between himself and Craig for the series championship.

Jake Garcia finished third, with Craig rebounding to finish third. Giovanni Bromante, racing for the first time in more than a year, was fourth with Jeff Batten in fifth.

Both races were broadcast live by SPEED SPORT TV affiliate Pit Row TV.
