CARS Tour Forced To Cancel Hickory Event

MOORESVILLE, N.C. – The CARS Solid Rock Carriers Tour has been forced to cancel the Race Face Tel-Med 300 at Hickory Motor Speedway, which was scheduled for March 21.

The cancellation is the result of North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper passing Executive Order No. 117 on Saturday, which banned public gatherings of more than 100 people within the state.

The ban was announced just as qualifying was beginning for a weekly racing event at the third-mile asphalt oval on Saturday afternoon. Qualifying was completed, but before racing was able to begin Hickory officials were forced to cancel the remainder of the event.

The next event on the CARS Solid Rock Carriers Tour schedule is the Old North State Nationals at Orange County Speedway in Rougemont, N.C., on April 4.
