Tunny Grabs 11th World Figure-8 Pole

INDIANAPOLIS — Mark Tunny bested a field of 41 late Model Figure-8 cars to capture the pole position for Saturday’s World Figure 8 Championship 3-Hour Endurance Race at the Indianapolis Speedrome.

It was Tunny’s record 11th career pole in the race’s forty-seven-year history.

Tunny who is a three-time winner of the event will lead the field to the green tonight and will be shooting for the $20,000 top prize.

The top 20 qualifiers were locked into tonight’s 3-hour long event. Those not locked in will participate in a timed qualifying session Saturday afternoon to determine starters 21 through 28 and the order of the alternates list.

An unlimited number of attempts can be made during the time limit.

For those who cannot attend tonight’s 47th annual tonight’s World Figure 8 Championship 3-Hour Endurance Race, it will be streamed on SPEED SPORT affiliate Speedrome.tv. The green flag is set to be waved at 8 p.m. ET.
