ATLANTA, Ga. — The United Sprint Car Series Outlaw Thunder Tour presented by K&N Filters invade the Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Alabama April 22-23.
The event, which is the sixth consecutive double-header weekend of the 2022 season, is one of the highlighted events of the series in their 26th anniversary season schedule.
For the United Sprint Car Series competitors, it’s a chance to re-visit the track where it all began for the USCS.
The inaugural USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour event was held at Talladega Short Track on Friday, April 25, 1997.
It is only the second time that the Georgia-based USCS has returned to the track on NASCAR’S Talladega 500 race weekend since that 1997 inaugural event.
Last season, the series held their 25th Anniversary Silver Shootout event at Talladega Short Track.Â
That two-night event saw NASCAR Cup Series racer, Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. in the USCS Victory Lane in his sprint car on both nights. Â Â
Friday night’s feature will pay $2,200 to the victor of the 25-lap night, while Saturday’s feature will pay $3,000 to win.
