Sweet Dethrones Gravel In Latest Sprint Car Rankings

Four-time World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series champion Brad Sweet has moved to the top of the National Sprint Car Rankings.

Sweet, who won Friday night’s World of Outlaws race at Kings Speedway, also leads the World of Outlaws standings in pursuit of a fifth straight series title.

Sweet has an average finish of 3.460 in 65 starts, putting him ahead of David Gravel, who boasts a 3.529 average finish in 66 races. Carson Macedo ranks third with an average finish of 3.788 in 67 races.

Brent Marks, who won Saturday’s National Open at Selinsgrove (Pa.) Speedway, is fourth, with Rico Abreu fifth.

One hundred and 50 drivers have made the 20 starts required to be eligible for the rankings and 894 racers have run a winged 410 sprint car race this season.

Freddie Rahmer holds the top spot in the Eastern region, while Joe B. Miller has a commanding advantage in the Mid-America region.

Cap Henry leads the Great Lakes region, with Dobmeier on top of the Great Plains region.

Corey Day paces the Western, with Trey Starks back on top in the Northwest region after a victory Saturday at Washington’s Skagit Speedway. A.J. Flick anchors the PA-Ohio region.

One hundred and 52 drivers have combined to win the 438 features run this season. 

Rahmer leads the country with 17 victories.
