MILTON, Fla. — Mark Smith picked up where he left off prior to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, outrunning a stellar field of 38 cars to win Friday night’s USCS Thunder Tour sprint car feature at Southern Raceway.
Smith, who won six of the first seven USCS races of the season, picked up his seventh series win of the season in the 25-lap event.
Smith started seventh and held off eighth-starter Dale Howard for the victory.
Midwest travelers Greg Wilson, Carson Short and Danny Smith rounded out the top five.
Bobby Zaiontz topped the 600 micro sprint feature.
