Hanks Is First-Time MOWA Victor

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. — For the first time in his career, Brandon Hanks is a Morrow Brothers Ford MOWA Sprint Car Series main event winner, scoring the win at Jacksonville Speedway on Friday.

Leading flag-to-flag from outside the front row, Hanks had to fight off a few challenges from fellow front-row starter Joey Moughan, who made his first start of the 2021 season aboard the Sears Racing No. 31.

“Man, what a trip. I haven’t got to run a whole lot of 410 races and I don’t have much experience in them, but I’ve run a bit with the All Stars and World of (Outlaws) and of course MOWA. It’s a big night, I’m just so excited,” said Hanks.

The action behind Hanks was exciting to watch as polesitter Joey Moughan made his return to the cockpit of a sprint car after sitting out for over a year. It didn’t take him long to remember how to power around the top shelf of the Jacksonville Speedway as he muscled his No. 31 machine to a second-place finish.

Tenth-starting Parker Price-Miller in the Nine Six Motorsports No. 96 scored another third-place run with the series, after an intense battle with Zach Daum and Noah Gass.

The finish:
