KOKOMO, Ind. – Robert Ballou opened the annual Sprint Car Smackdown weekend at Kokomo Speedway with a victory in Wednesday’s Bob Darland Memorial non-winged sprint car event.
Ballou ran down Emerson Axsom and took the lead when Axsom bobbled while running the cushion. Ballou led the remainder of the 37-lap feature, holding off Logan Seavey at the checkered flag.
Axsom, aboard the Clauson-Marshall Racing No. 39BC, finished third. Tanner Thorson and C.J. Leary completing the top-five.
