Glory Days: Indy 500 Winner Tops Hoosier Hundred

Less than four months after winning the 1970 Indianapolis 500 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Al Unser was back in Indianapolis and in victory lane again.

Unser wheeled his Johnny Lightning Special to a dominant triumph in what was at the time the richest race on dirt. Unser claimed the Hoosier Hundred for USAC champ cars and pocketed $19,744 for what was his seventh victory of the season.

Ralph Ligouri finished second and A.J. Foyt was third.
