STAT ATTACK: NASCAR, WoO Season Finales

1 — Veteran late model driver Mike Marlar won his first race with Skyline Motorsports Thursday at The Dirt Track at Charlotte.

2 — Ryan Blaney wrapped up the NASCAR Cup Series championship with a second-place finish at Phoenix Raceway.

2 — CARS Tour championships secured by brothers Carson and Caden Kvapil. Carson Kvapil won the late model stock title and Caden Kvapil earned the pro late model crown.

2 — Daison Pursley swept both USAC-CRA sprint car races during the Western World Championships at Cocopah Speedway in Arizona.

2 — Ben Rhodes secured his second NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series championship.

3 — For the third consecutive year, Matt Hirschman won the North-South Shootout at Caraway Speedway.

3 — Cole Custer scored his third win of the season on Saturday at Phoenix (Ariz.) Raceway, which gave the No. 00 Stewart-Haas Racing driver the NASCAR Xfinity Series championship. 

4 — Gio Scelzi tied Jeff Swindell (1981) and Brad Doty (1982) as the highest-finishing rookie on the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series tour with a fourth-place finish in the standings.

5 — Bobby Pierce is the fifth driver to win the World of Outlaws Late Model Series title in his rookie year on tour.

9 — Tony Hirschman won the John Blewett Memorial North-South Shootout for the ninth time Saturday at Caraway Speedway.

10 — Matt Sheppard clinched his 10th Super DIRTcar Series championship in 14 years on Friday night at the World Finals. 

13 — Brent Marks scored his 13th sprint car win of the season in Friday’s World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series World Finals feature at The Dirt Track at Charlotte (N.C.). 

15 — At 15 years, seven months and six days old, Brent Crews became the youngest champion in the history of the Trans-Am Series on Saturday afternoon. Crews claimed the TA2 class title. 

17 — Seventeen-year-old William Sawalich became the youngest winner of the All American 400 at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway.

17 — Max Verstappen earned his 17th Formula 1 victory of the season Sunday in Brazil.

18 — Ty Gibbs, who finished 18th in the NASCAR Cup Series standings this season, was named series rookie of the year. 

20 — Heading into the World Finals, Ricky Thornton Jr.’s best finish at The Dirt Track at Charlotte was 20th in 2014. By the end of the week, the No. 20rt driver had claimed a pair of victories. 

21 — Kevin Harvick finished his career with 21 straight top-10 finishes at Phoenix (Ariz.) Raceway after logging a seventh-place result at Phoenix on Sunday. 

32 — Ty Majeski claimed the inaugural ASA STARS National Tour title with a 32-point gap over Cole Butcher following the All American 400 at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway. 

$350,000 — Money won by Brad Sweet for claiming his fifth consecutive World of Outlaws sprint car championship.

$1 million — The High Limit Racing Series plans to award a point fund of $1 million next season. The championship team and driver are scheduled to earn $250,000.
