Heim Called To Run Third Entry For 23XI Racing At Nashville

Corey Heim is set to make his third career NASCAR Cup Series start at Nashville (Tenn.) Superspeedway, but this time, he’ll be behind the wheel of a 23XI Racing entry.

The Michael Jordan-owned team will field a third entry for Heim — the No. 50 Toyota — at the June 30 race.

The 21-year-old’s prior two Cup Series starts were with Legacy Motor Club as a substitute driver for Erik Jones, who was out of commission with a spine injury last month. In addition to his full-time commitments in the Truck Series with TRICON Garage, Heim is also the reserve driver for both LMC and 23XI Racing.

The effort to enter the No. 50 at Nashville is a collaboration amongst 23XI Racing, Toyota Racing Development and Mobil 1. The oil brand is celebrating its 50th anniversary, hence, the special car number.

“I’m very thankful for this opportunity I’ve been given by Mobil 1 to compete with 23XI in Nashville,” Heim said. “Through my time with Toyota, I’ve had the opportunity to meet so many amazing people, including those from Mobil 1. We have seen this season how strong 23XI’s Camrys have been, which makes me even more excited to get behind the wheel in Nashville.

“I’m putting in the effort to be prepared for this opportunity and cannot wait to get on-track with the No. 50 Mobil 1 Toyota team in a few weeks.”

Heim’s best finish with Legacy Motor Club in the Cup Series was 22nd at Kansas Speedway.

“We are excited for Corey to join the 23XI team in Nashville as he helps us celebrate our partners at Mobil 1 and its 50th anniversary,” shared Steve Lauletta, president of 23XI Racing. “Corey is undoubtedly an up-and-coming star, and we look forward to working with him as he prepares to race at Nashville. Mobil 1 has a history of working with some of the best young talent in racing, and I can’t think of a better person than Corey to drive the No. 50 Toyota at Nashville.”
