Cody Ware Reinstated By NASCAR

NASCAR officials reinstated driver Cody Ware on Tuesday afternoon.

Ware was suspended indefinitely by NASCAR on April 10 following an arrest by North Carolina’s Iredell County Sheriff’s Office. The 28-year-old faced a felony charge for assault by strangulation inflicting serious injury and misdemeanor assault on a female. The charges have since been dropped.

Prior to his suspension, Ware wheeled the No. 51 Ford for Rick Ware Racing for the first seven races of the NASCAR Cup Series season. Ware’s father, Rick Ware, owns RWR.

In 97 career Cup Series starts, Cody Ware has a best finish of 14th in the season-opening Daytona 500.
