Bastianini Thrills Huge French MotoGP Crowd

LE MANS, France — Enea Bastianini was in the right place at the right time to win his third MotoGP race of the season Sunday afternoon at the Bugatti Circuit in Le Mans.

A crowd of more than 110,000 on hand for the SHARK Grand Prix de France saw the Gresini Racing rider capitalize when longtime race leader Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo) bobbled as the pair battled lap after lap at the front of the field.

Bagnaia slipped back to second, but then spun his bike into the gravel trap in the final turn, ending his race.

Bastianini kept it steady from there to cruise to his third victory of the season.

Bagnaia’s teammate, Jack Miller, came home second, with Aprilia Racing’s Aleix Espargaro coming home third.

Fabio Quartararo was fourth for Yamaha, with Johann Zarco claiming fifth for Pramac Racing.

Multi-time world champion Marc Marquez brought his Repsol Honda home sixth.
