MOORESVILLE, N.C. – The Fourth of July weekend is known for fireworks in the sky, but fireworks will also take place on race tracks across the United States, with many of those events set to be broadcast live by SPEED SPORT TV and its affiliate partners.
Headlining the list of SPEED SPORT TV broadcasts this weekend is the Thunder Road Harley-Davidson 200 from Virginia’s South Boston Speedway. The annual 200-lap event for late model stock cars that pays $10,000 to the winner is expected to draw a number of top regional talent, including Timothy Peters, Jared Fryar, Bobby McCarty, Chandler Smith, Peyton Sellers and Mike Looney. Circle City Raceway in Indianapolis, Ind., will also be in action this weekend. The quarter-mile dirt track will play host to the Marion County Mayhem Demo Derby this Friday and Saturday before switching gears to host a $2,000-to-win event for the Summit American Modified Tour on Sunday evening. The CARS Super Late Model Tour returns to action on Saturday for a big $20,000-to-win event at Pennsylvania’s Jennerstown Speedway. Top touring late model stars like Bubba Pollard and Derek Griffith will battle ARCA and NASCAR competitors like Corey Heim and Josh Berry during the American Freedom 300 at the .522-mile asphalt oval. SPEED SPORT TV affiliate Pit Row TV will have complete coverage of the race.
The 10-day Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek will come to a close Sunday at Selinsgrove Speedway, with top regional sprint car stars like Danny Dietrich, Brent Marks and more battling for the checkered flag and the Speedweek championship. Fans unable to attend in person will be able to watch the race live by tuning in to SPEED SPORT TV affiliate Dirt Track Digest TV.
Indiana’s Salem Speedway will celebrate the Fourth of July in style by hosting the annual Firecracker 150 for the Lucas Oil Great American Stocks. Among the pre-entered drivers is 10-time ARCA Menards Series champion Frank Kimmel, who previously won the event in 1991. SPEED SPORT TV affiliate Dirt2Media is broadcasting the race live.
