SPEED SPORT Launches New Online Home

Welcome to the new and improved SPEEDSPORT.com.

You’re reading this post on the all-new SPEEDSPORT.com site, which launched Tuesday morning and is the culmination of more than 6 months of planning and preparation. We hope you will find it an improvement over the previous site(s) — and welcome your feedback.

For the most part, this new version of SPEEDSPORT.com should be pretty familiar to you. News is categorized and presented in a similar fashion as in the past versions of the site with a top stories section, latest headlines and a drop-down menu that includes categories for the various segments of motorsports such as NASCAR, IndyCar, Drag Racing, Late Models and Sprints & Midgets.

We’re really excited about improvements to our video block, and we’re ramping up our production of newsworthy and entertaining short form video for this section.  The photo gallery section has also been improved – and of course our award-winning team of writers will be showcased in an improved Columns section.

While the majority of content on SPEEDSPORT.com remains free to users, premium content from SPEED SPORT Magazine will continue to be included on the site and subscribers can log in in the same fashion as they have in the past by clicking on “Log In” in the upper-right corner of the site.

Overall, the site is now optimized for performance and ease of use on all platforms — especially mobile — where the majority of you access it. Perhaps the most important improvements are the unseen ones. With our strategic partnership with NASCAR Digital Media, we were able to leverage their infrastructure and technical scale which will allow this new site to load faster and be more stable. This launch is the latest step in the strategic partnership between SPEED SPORT and NASCAR Digital Media that was announced in August.

“We are very proud to launch a new version of SPEEDSPORT.com,” said SPEED SPORT CEO Joe Tripp. “The team at NASCAR Digital Media worked hand-in-hand with our website staff and created something that gives us the horsepower to take our unrivaled coverage of motorsports — specifically grassroots racing — to a new level. SPEED SPORT and NASCAR are both strongly committed to serving the motorsports industry giving its participants and stakeholders even greater exposure.”
