ORANGE, Calif. — Motorsports industry leader John Kilroy has died after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Kilroy was the longtime editor of Performance Racing Industry Magazine. He started with PRI in 1990 and led the company’s editorial department for 22 years.
He became general manager of PRI when it was sold to the Specialty Equipment Market Ass’n in 2012.
For the next four years, he oversaw the day-to-day management of PRI and produced the annual PRI Trade Show while guiding the overall direction of PRI’s media and communications efforts.
Kilroy left PRI in 2016 and later became chief of content and audience development for epartrade.
Kilroy leaves behind a wife and three children, including his son, Jake, who wrote a touching tribute to his father that can be read on epartrade.com.
