Rain Continues To Dampen IMCA Super Nationals

BOONE, Iowa – Mother Nature continued her assault on the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s at Boone Speedway on Friday afternoon.

With rain falling throughout the day and conditions not expected to improve, IMCA officials made the call to postpone on-track activity scheduled for Friday. It is the fourth-straight day that poor weather has forced IMCA officials to rework the Super Nationals schedule.

Entering Friday the event schedule was already a day behind, with Thursday’s scheduled events having previously been postponed because of weather. As a result, Thursday’s Super Nationals qualifying program will now begin on Saturday morning at 9 a.m. Central, with an optional hot lap session scheduled to begin at 7:30 a.m. Central.

The Thursday program will feature two qualifying features for the stock car class, two qualifying features for the modified class and qualifying for the stock car and modified Race of Champions events.

Upon the completion of the Thursday program Saturday afternoon, IMCA officials will then transition into the Friday Super Nationals qualifying program. The Friday program is scheduled to include two qualifying features for the stock car class, two qualifying features for the modified class and the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational for the modified division.

Lastly, Championship Saturday will now become Championship Sunday at Boone Speedway, with the final four class champions in the modifieds, stock cars, Northern sportmods and hobby stocks all being crowned Sunday.

Racing on Sunday will begin at 9 a.m. Central. In addition to the championship races, the final nine positions for the modified feature and the final six positions in the stock car feature will be filled via preliminary action. The Race of Champions features for the hobby stocks, Northern sportmods, stock cars and modifieds will also be on the Sunday card.

IMCA officials do not plan to cancel any races and every event will be run in their originally announced format to their entirety.

Fans unable to attend in person will be able to watch all the racing live via SPEED SPORT TV affiliate IMCA.TV.
