Bronson Rules Cochran Late Model Battle

COCHRAN, Ga. – Kyle Bronson took advantage of slower traffic to slip by Mark Whitener and pull away to win $10,000 World Championship feature for crate late models Saturday night at Cochran Motor Speedway.

After transferring his way into the feature from the B-Main, Bronson methodically worked his way through the 24-car field until he was running third behind Whitener and Joseph Brown.

As the leaders battle through traffic Whitener tried to pass a slower car on the inside with seven laps left, but the move failed and that opened the door for Brown to try and take the lead.

Entering turn one Brown tried a slide job and took the lead for a moment, but he made contact with Whitener that sent Brown up the track and out of contention. The contact also slowed Whitener down enough for Bronson to move around him.

Bronson would go on to lead the final laps of the feature, beating Whitener to the checkered flag by .263 seconds.

Corey Dunn was third, followed by Brown and Wil Herrington.

The finish:

Kyle Bronson, Mark Whitener, Corey Dunn, Joseph Brown, Wil Herrington, Jordy Nipper, Forrest Trent, Ben Faircloth, Cody Overton, Jamie Carter, Trent Lloyd, Parker Martin, Blake Smith, John Baker, Cody Smith, Jeremy Shaw, Tim Anderson, Garrett Shurling, Dylan Knowles, Jimmy Elliott, Chad Tuten, Jeremy Faircloth, James Gilmore, Colby Darda.
