Rain washed out Saturday evening’s annual Wayne Carter Classic presented by Rod Baker Ford and D’Arcy Chevrolet ASA Midwest Tour event at the Grundy County Speedway.
Grundy County Speedway held its Illinois State Championship racing program Friday night with a number of drivers claiming victories in twin-feature race competition at the third-mile paved oval.
Some were calling it the “Monaco of NASCAR,” while others were a little “edgy” about street closures, etc., and the seemingly annual rain delay/rain shortened race that seems to be part of NASCAR’s annual visit to Chicago.
