Truex Supporting Mountain Creek’s Chad Bush Clash

CATAWBA, N.C. – Martin Truex Jr., the 2017 NASCAR Cup Series champion, has signed on as the title sponsor for the inaugural Chad Bush Clash on Nov. 20-21 at Mountain Creek Speedway.

The two-day event will feature flat kart racing on Saturday and outlaw kart racing on Sunday, with 100 percent of the support going to benefit the Cabarrus Healthcare Foundation in Chad Bush’s name. Chad Bush, a weekly competitor since the track’s inception and a huge supporter of the speedway, was diagnosed with cancer in 2016 after 22 years of remission.

“Chad has been a part of the racing family at the Creek from our very first season,” said track owners and promoters Adam and Rebecca Stewart. “He is truly dedicated to the sport of racing and helping others. It comes as no surprise that Chad would want to give back even when he is fighting his own battle. That’s the kind of heart he has, a giving heart. Mountain Creek is honored to have the opportunity to host the Chad Bush Clash.”

Bush, who competes in the mini-modified division at Mountain Creek Speedway, is also a car builder and fabricator who locked up the track championship while undergoing cancer treatments this year. Truex and his longtime girlfriend, Sherry Pollex, have been huge advocates for cancer awareness. Pollex and Truex have worked to support childhood and ovarian cancer initiatives through the Martin Truex Jr. Foundation, which was established in 2007.

“We’re honored to be a part of anything that involves racing and helping out cancer patients. Chad is one of the toughest guys we know” said Martin Truex Jr. and Sherry Pollex. “We are so proud of his efforts to help other patients while he is going through his own battle. We hope this inspires others to reach out and do something for someone in their community that is going through a tough time.”

The two day event will see upwards of 17 divisions on the docket. A link to donate to the event has also been established through the Cabarrus Healthcare Foundation at https://cabarrushealthcarefoundation.org/donate-3rd-party. All donations will go directly to the charity.
