Fall Brawl Set To Close Out Hickory Season

HICKORY, N.C. – Hickory Motor Speedway will close out its season with the annual running of the Calico Coatings Fall Brawl this Saturday night.

The event is headlined by a 200-lap main event for the Heritage Finance Late Model division, with more than 25 drivers pre-entered to compete. The race is set to be broadcast live by SPEED SPORT TV affiliate HickoryMotorSpeedway.TV.

Among those who have pre-entered is Carson Kvapil, who was just named the driver of the JR Motorsports No. 8 late model stock car for next season. He’s riding a wave of momentum after securing the CARS Super Late Model Tour championship, which eh followed by winning $10,000 Wednesday night in a micro sprint race at Millbridge Speedway.

Ryan Millington is another marquee name on the entry list. Millington is a two-time Hickory Motor Speedway track champion in the late model stock car class, having captured titles in 2020 and ’17.

CARS Late Model Stock Tour regular Justin Johnson comes into the Fall Brawl after enjoying one of his best seasons to date. Johnson won a pair of CARS Late Model Stock Tour races and finished the season ranked fourth in the series standings.

Another notable entry comes from the Lee Faulk Racing and Development stable in the way of young gun Braden Rogers. The California driver raced regularly this year at Tri-County Speedway, winning five times and securing the track championship.

Other notable entries include 2018 Hickory track champion Jacob Heafner, CARS Late Model Stock Tour regular Mason Diaz, Florence Motor Speedway regular Ryan Glenski, Tennessee’s Chase Dixon and NASCAR Drive for Diversity member Isabella Robusto. 

Also on the card is a 100-lap feature for the Carolina Pro Late Model Series, which will determine the series champion for the season. Nick Loden enters the race as the championship leader on the strength of four victories this year. 

Other entrants for the Carolina Pro Late Model Series feature include 2009 ValleyStar Credit Union 300 winner Jake Crum, Northeastern visitor Cory Casagrande and Caden Kvapil, the younger brother of Carson Kvapil.

The Paramount Auto Group Limited Late Models will also be on hand and race for 100 laps, with more than 25 entries already received for that division. A 30-lap feature for the Heritage Finance Street Stocks is also scheduled.

With cold temperatures moving into the region, the event has been moved up, with racing slated to begin at approximately 4 p.m. ET.
