Dominant Byron Rules New Smyrna

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. — William Byron turned in a dominant performance to win the 35-lap super late model headliner on night four of the 57th World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing at New Smyrna Speedway.

Byron, the NASCAR Cup Series regular, took the lead at the green flag and led the entire distance, holding off Casey Roderick in the race that was a tune-up for Tuesday night’s 100-lap Clyde Hart Memorial.

William Sawalich, who won on Sunday, finished third, with Gio Ruggiero and Brady May rounding out the top five in a star-studded feature lineup.

Matt Hirschman outran Patrick Emerling to win the Tour-type modified feature, while Conner Jones picked up his second victory of the week in the Pro Late Model class.
