CATAWBA, N.C. — Brexton Busch made his bid for the 2022 championship known as he led wire-to-wire to take down the beginner Box Stock win at Mountain Creek Speedway.

John Marshall Pursley came close but just didn’t have enough to pass Busch before the finish. Jackson Darnell was third with Wyatt Coffey, fourth. B-main winner, Stetson Swink started near the rear and drove to fifth place.

In the Cadet feature it was caution-filled, but when the checkered fell it was Easton Garrard taking the win followed by Caden Outz. A tip of the hat to Warren Mattesen who finished third after having to go to the rear of the field for an unapproved tire change. Blaise Keene and Brylon Earnhardt rounded out the top five.

The Box Stock main event didn’t disappoint either as Gavin Marlin, Peyton Johnson and Karter Beattie battled all-race long.

Beattie was able to wrestle the lead away from Marlin in the late stages to win the twenty lap A-main.

Brody Measmer was fourth while Liam Kane, who won the B-main, drove all the way to fifth in the main event. Beattie went back-to-back, winning the Jr. Wing feature over Billy Corsa.

Defending Yamaha 450 Outlaw champion, Lou Mattesen picked up where he left off by winning in the opening night.
