Joiner Steals $15,000 Victory In National 100

PHENIX CITY, Ala. – Joseph Joiner emerged victorious after a wild final lap during National 100 dirt late model event at East Alabama Motor Speedway on Sunday night.

Joiner started the final lap in third behind race leader Parker Martin and Jason Hiett and watched as the two leaders went to war for the race lead.

Coming out of turn two Martin drifted high, opening the door for Hiett to slip under him to take the race lead. Entering turn three, Martin drilled the rear bumper of Hiett’s car, sending him into a spin.

Martin was back in the lead, but only for a moment as he drifted high coming out of turn four. Joiner seized the opportunity, blowing by him on the bottom to take the lead and steal the $15,000 victory.
