Williamson Strikes Again In Canada

CORNWALL, Ontario – Mat Williamson completed a successful weekend with his third victory in as many days Sunday at Cornwall Motor Speedway.

Williamson previously collected victories at Brockville Ontario Speedway on Saturday and Ransomville (N.Y.) Speedway on Friday.

Williamson jumped into the lead at the start of the 40-lap modified feature with Tristan Draper and Brian McDonald in pursuit. The yellow flag waved on lap nine for Kyle Dingwall, erasing Williamson’s advantage. He remained at the front of the field during the restart as Carey Terrance moved into second with 13 laps complete.

The caution flag waved again on lap 22 when Chris Herbison crashed on the fronstretch. Williamson pulled away during the restart and was never challenged, securing the victory over Terrance and Ryan Arbuthnot.

In other action, Gabriel Cyr triumphed in the 32-lap sportsman feature. Stephane Lebrun was a winner in the 25-lap pro stock feature. James Clarke won for the fourth time in five tries in the mini stock feature. Finally, Patrick Lague led every lap of the Midget SpeedSTR feature.
