RANSOMVILLE, N.Y. – Mat Williamson won his sixth DIRTcar 358 Modified main event of the season Friday night at Ransomville Speedway.
Williamson led the final 19 laps, overtaking Ryan Susice on a lap-12 restart. It’s Williamson’s second win in a row at the speedway.
Andrew Smith and James Sweeting shared the front-row of the 30-lap feature, as Williamson started outside the top-five and moved into fourth by lap three.
Susice took the lead on lap five while Williamson took second two laps later.Â
Allan Willis’ collision with the turn one wall erased Susice’s two-second lead to give Williamson the restart he needed to gain control.Â
Going into the track’s regular season finale next Friday night, Williamson holds a two-point lead over Rudolph and a 24-point cushion over Susice.Â
Cameron Tuttle topped the accompanying sportsman feature, with Jaren Israel winning the street stock main event.
Bill Weller Jr. won the mini stock feature, as Andrew Joy found victory lane in the novice sportsman division.
