NORTH WOODSTOCK, N.H. — An already-big summer of racing at White Mountain Motorsports Park has gotten even bigger.
White Mountain Motorsports Park officials announced today that the Midsummer Classic has been expanded to a weekend doubleheader on Aug. 8-9 with the Pro All Star Series joining the American-Canadian Tour in the scenic White Mountains.
Saturday night’s schedule will remain as originally announced with the American-Canadian Tour as the headliner. The 250-lap, $10,000-to-win Midsummer Classic is back for a third straight season, pitting the best touring and local stars against each other in the longest, richest American-Canadian Tour race of the summer.
White Mountain’s Wells River Chevrolet Flying Tigers, Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank Strictly Stock Mini’s, and Dads 4 By Tool & Supply Kids Trucks are also on the Saturday program with a 6 p.m. post time.
Aug. 9 at 1:30 p.m., the Pro All Stars Series Super Late Models make their fourth visit of the year to White Mountain for a 150-lap main event. The Pro All Stars Series Modifieds join them for their third trip of the season to the North Country high banks. Rounding out the card is the Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors, who compete regularly at Thunder Road Int’l Speedbowl and are going on the road for the first time in an added-distance, added-purse event.
The weekend is the fourth doubleheader of the season at White Mountain as the track makes up for events lost earlier in the year due to the worldwide COVID-19 outbreak.
Midsummer Classic Weekend comes just one week following the second event of the season for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour in northern New Hampshire. The combination of big series, big names, and big money has made White Mountain Motorsports Park the place to be for racing fans in 2020.
“The Midsummer Classic has quickly become a cornerstone event for White Mountain, and we’re excited to make it even bigger,” White Mountain Managing Partner Cris Michaud said. “Earlier this year, there was obviously a lot of uncertainly about how the season would play out. But circumstances have fallen into place like we never could have imagined. With seven divisions, two major touring series, and the beautiful White Mountains in the background, it will be another great weekend for fans of auto racing.”
