VanDoren Inherits Orange Co. Prize

MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. — Tanner VanDoren finished second Friday night at Orange County Fair Speedway, but wound up the winner of the sportsman portion of Eastern States 200 weekend at the legendary race track.

L.J. Lombardo crossed the finish line first, but was disqualified during post-race inspection, handing the triumph to VanDoren for the second consecutive year.

Lombardo took the lead on a lap-47 restart and led VanDoren to the checkered flag.

However, VanDoren was awarded the $5,000 victory with Dave Rogers second and Zach Sobotka third.

Matt Sheppard won the modified champions race.
