CORNWALL, Ontario – Carey Terrance triumphed in the modified division on Sunday evening at Cornwall Motor Speedway.
Dany Gagne to the lead in the 40-lap modified feature as caution waved on lap one for Tristan Draper. Gagne held the lead during the restart with Corey Wheeler and Kyle Dingwall in pursuit. Gagne soon had additional company as Terrance moved into third.
Wheeler slipped by Gagne on lap 15 as Terrance continued his pursuit, eventually driving by Gagne at the halfway point of the feature. The caution waved on lap 22 and during the restart Terrance powered by Wheeler for the lead.
Terrance built a sizable lead, but the caution waved with six laps left when Dingwall stopped in turn two. Terrance retained the lead during the restart as Chris Raabe made the move to second over Wheeler. It was too late for Raabe, as Terrance pulled away to the victory. Steve Bernier made a late run to finish third.
In other action, Ryan Stabler topped the 32-lap sportsman feature while Bruno Cyr conquered the pro stock division. Jordan Poirier triumphed again in the lightning sprint class while Alexis Charbonneau was declared the winner of the mini stock feature, which was stopped after 11 laps by rain.
