Rudolph Rules Ransomville Run

RANSOMVILLE, N.Y. — It had been 608 days since the last time Ransomville Speedway hosted a racing event as the track opened its 63rd season on Friday night.

Third-generation modified driver Erick Rudolph claimed the headlining feature in that division.

Erick Rudolph and Mat Williamson set the front row for the modified feature with Rudolph showing the way. Ryan Susice and Chad Brachmann battle for third as Greg Martin passed Kyle Inman to enter the top five.

John Smith slowed on the backstretch to bring out the race’s first caution. Williamson was able to take the lead away from Rudolph on the restart. Gil Tegg’s night came to an end on lap four as he went off on the hook after sustaining damage to the left rear of the No. 22.

Rudolph would regain the lead and beat Williamson to the checkered flag. Chad Brachmann, Ryan Susice and James Sweeting rounded out the top five.

Other winners were Brad Whiteside (mini stocks), Scott Kerwin (sportsman), Pete Stefanski (street stocks) and Dylan Duhow (novice sportsman).
