Johnson Ends Fonda Drought

FONDA, N.Y. — Ronnie Johnson grabbed his first modified victory of the season Saturday night at Fonda Speedway.

Johnson’s 31st career triumph at Fonda was his first since Aug. 20, 2016, ending a nearly five-year drought.

Johnson took the lead from Mike Mahaney on lap 13 and led the remainder of the distance, beating Rocky Warner to the checkered flag.

Stewart Friesen finished third, with Mahaney and Josh Hohenforst following.

Tanner Warner topped the crate 602 sportsman main event.

Luke Horning won the pro stock feature and Stephen Gray aced the limited sportsman main event. Kerrie Hollenback was the four-cylinder winner.

The 20-lap CRSA sprint car feature went to Mike Kiser.
