BREWERTON, N.Y. – Billy Decker narrowly held off Larry Wight to notch the headlining Tracey Road Equipment DIRTcar Modified feature win on Ingles Performance Opening Night at the third-mile, D-shaped dirt oval Friday.
Decker led only the final two laps of the 35-lap main event, passing Wight on lap 34 and taking the checkered flag in front by a scant .151 seconds.
Wight came home as the runner-up after leading laps 12 through 33, with Jimmy Phelps completing the podium. Chris Hile was fourth after pacing the first 11 circuits, while Tim Sears Jr. finished fifth.
Tom Sears Jr., Pat Ward, Chad Phelps, Jeff Taylor and Joe August closed the top 10.
Other feature winners Friday night included Alan Fink (DOT Foods DIRTcar Sportsman), Kyle Demo (AmeriCU Credit Union Mod Lites) and Chuck Powelczyk (Fleet Repair 4-Cylinders).
