FONDA, N.Y. – Stewart Friesen pocketed $2,700 for winning the Harry Peek Tribute Sunoco Modified feature that headlined championship night Saturday at Fonda Speedway.
Friesen won the 27-lap feature ahead of Ronnie Johnson and Rocky Warner, who conversely ended the season tied at the top of the series standings and were declared co-champions in the Sunoco Modified class. It is the first time in track history that co-champions have been declared in the modified class.
It’s Johnson’s third modified championship and Warner’s second.
Payton Talbot won the 25-lap crate 602 sportsman feature, his first win in the class. Chad Edwards claimed his third track championship in the class. Nick Stone capped his third pro stock championship with a victory in the 20-lap feature. Stephen Gray won the 15-lap limited sportsman feature while Carter Gibbons secured the track title.
Kerrie Hollenbeck triumphed in the four-cylinder (DOHC) feature while Ken Hollenbeck was the winner in the four-cylinder (SOHC) class. Ken Hollenbeck was the SOHC champion while Slappy White was declared the DOHC champion.
Vintage feature wins went to Randy Delaney (modified), Curtis Condon (late model), Bryon Seyfried (sportsman), George Palmer (mystique) and Bryon Scofield (antique).
