Chad Homan Earns Career Win No. 92

ARCADE, N.Y. — Ed Carley Motorsports presented Friday night’s racing program at Freedom Motorsports Park, with some great racing among the divisions and the biggest field of RUSH Stock Cars at the track this season.

The 25-lap East Coast Speed RUSH Crate Late Model feature saw an opening lap crash on the backstretch end the night for Mark Sundt and Brad Mesler. When racing resumed, Bill Taylor and Bryce Davis had a good battle for the lead that ended when Davis spun in turn two.

Chad Homan moved into second and started putting pressure on Taylor for the lead, with Homan taking the lead five laps later as Chuck LaFleur passed Dave DuBois and Paul Grigsby inside the top five. Taylor scraped the wall and damaged the rear deck on his car as Lafleur and Grigsby moved ahead.

Grigsby took second from Lafleur on lap 16, but could not run down Homan, who took career win No. 92.

Grigsby, LaFleur, Davis and Dave Dubois rounded out the top five.

In the Close Racing Supply RUSH Pro Mod 20-lap feature, Josh Wilcox grabbed the early lead, but Tyler Oakes battled him for the lead while Adam Ashcroft charged into third with Steve Dixon in fourth. Dixon and Ashcroft battled for third, with Ashcroft getting the spot as Wilcox and Oakes maintained the top two spots.

On a lap nine restart, Ashcroft got past Wilcox for the top spot as Al Brewer battled with Justin Chaddock for fifth.

Oakes made a move for second past Wilcox on lap 13 as Ashcroft pulled away. At the finish, Ashcroft took the win, with Oakes, Dixon, Brewer and Wilcox rounding out the top five.

The 15-lap RUSH Stock Car feature began with William Baker leading the first lap, but Kaden Michael ripped into the lead on lap two and pulled out a big lead while Lane Reinwald fought his way into second by lap five. A quick caution for Alex Bush’s spin on lap nine bunched the field for a restart, and Reinwald and Michael battled hard until Michael spun in turn two on lap 13.

Reinwald held off Baker for the win, followed by Cody Rickard, Cole Strickland and Kaden Michael.

In the 15-lap Mini Stock feature, DJ Williams and Andy Schumaker battled the entire race for the lead, with Nathan Hill in third.

Schumaker and Williams ran side by side for several laps, but in the end Williams had enough for a one car length win over Schumaker.

Hill, Bill Weatherley and John Michael rounded out the top five.

The 10-lap Bandit feature saw Raiddan Wilson take the lead on lap two and go the distance in the top spot for the win, followed by Chace Tidd and Khloe Griffin.
