Morfier Named Attica Director Of Operations

ATTICA, Ohio – They are big shoes to fill but Andrew Morfier is excited to try them on. Morfier will replace Rex LeJeune as the Director of Operations at Attica Raceway Park.

LeJeune is retiring after over 40 years of work in the racing industry, including the past 17 as Director of Operations at Attica Raceway Park.

Morfier began working at Attica in the office from 2006-’08 and was the assistant flagman in 2009 and became head flagman in 2014. He will be turning over the flags to Brandon Bliss the remainder of the 2022 season as he works with and observes the duties LeJeune performs.

“Andrew brings a lot of organizational skills to the table and is very familiar with how the racing industry functions. Rex will be of immense help in getting him up to speed on the duties and responsibilities of the job. I look forward to working with Andrew to keep Attica Raceway Park successful,” said ARP Promoter John Bores.

“I am very appreciative to John Bores for giving me this opportunity and to Rex for the guidance, support, and leadership the past 17 seasons and the 6 months ahead.  I cannot thank the entire staff of ARP enough for being part of a wonderful team that hopefully we will continue for many seasons ahead,” said Morfier.

LeJeune plans to spend more time with his wife, Barb who is also retiring at the end of the year from her job.

Ironically, LeJeune began as ARP’s director of operations in 2006 after spending a majority of his career – including at Attica – as a flagman

“Andrew will be a great asset to Attica Raceway Park. He has a good, dedicated, talented staff to work with and help him continue the great tradition of Ohio Finest Racing track,” said LeJeune. “I hope the race teams and fans are patient with him as he learns and grows in this role.”
