Shryock Doubles Up In Jackson Midwest IMCA Opener

JACKSON, Minn. – Kelly Shryock, Malik Sampson, Jared Boumeester and Nate Coopman emerged victorious Tuesday evening at Jackson Motorplex during the Bank Midwest IMCA Series presented by Zac’s Trailer Sales opener.

It marked the first time in nearly a year that all five divisions competed at the dirt track and Tuesday’s action featured 132 entrants.

Shryock doubled up by winning the a-modifieds main event to cap the night after topping a division-best 33 drivers in the stock cars division. Sampson was the hobby stocks winner with Boumeester scoring the sport mods triumph and Coopman earning the sport compacts victory.

The night concluded with Shryock outlasting 13th-starting Brandon Beckendorf and 11th-starting Cody Thompson in the a-modifieds main event. Dalton Magers finished fourth with Bob Moore fifth.

Mat Hollerich, Shryock and Magers were the heat race winners.

Shryock maneuvered from fifth to garner the stock cars victory over 11 th-starting Colton Arends. Justin Luinenburg posted a third-place finish with Curt Lund fourth and Dan Mackenthun fifth.

Derek Green, Austin Brands, Jeff Larson and Luinenburg picked up heat race victories. Joe Schmit won the B Main.

Sampson also rallied from the third row to find Victory Lane in the hobby stocks main event. Brad Becker was the runner up with Cory Probst, Blake Luinenburg and Josh Sidles rounding out the top five, respectively.

Heat races were won by Sidles, Drew Barglof, Probst and Gavin Jorgenson. Steve Wickman captured the B Main.

Boumeester bested Jake Sachau to win the sport mods A Main. Matthew Looft ended third with Zach Davis placing fourth and Justin Klynsma fifth.

Boumeester, Sachau, Jeff McCollum and Klynsma each won a heat race. Jacob Tacheny was the B Main victor.

Coopman was the lone driver to win a feature from the front row as he capitalized on the pole position in the sport compacts feature. Marschall Robinson placed second with Austin Friedrich third, Stephanie Coopman fourth and RJ Esqueda fifth.

Friedrich and Kaytee Devries both garnered a heat race victory.

The next event at Jackson Motorplex is Friday for the MSTS/MPS 360 Sprints presented by Livewire Printing featuring the Midwest Sprint Touring Series and Midwest Power Series as well as the Wyffels Hybrids RaceSaver Sprint Car Series.

The next Bank Midwest IMCA Series event is June 8.
