MACON, Ill. — More than 110 cars across seven divisions competed at the 77th season opener at Macon Speedway on Saturday night.
Former champion Dennis Vandermeersch scored victory in the Weddle Performance Engines Sportsman division over second-place-finisher Rick Roedel.
The 51 Bistro Street Stocks were conquered by Tanner Sullivan after he pulled a slide job that gave him the lead over Terry Reed with two laps remaining.
Braden Johnson had an exciting 20-lap race in the Decatur Building Trades Pro Late Models. After a rough evening of racing on Friday, Johnson ended up winning the race, staying ahead of Dakota Ewing and Colby Sheppard.
In the BillingsleyRewards.com Modifieds, Rick Conoyer pulled out the win over Jeremy Nichols and Alan Crowder. Nichols controlled the majority of the race, but faded with a few laps remaining to put Conoyer back on top.
Guy Taylor started the Pro Modified season off with a feature win. From the pole position, Taylor navigated his way through the 16-car field and kept away from second-place finisher Tommy Gaither.
Craig Ronk was victorious over Hayden Harvey in the Engler Machine POWRi Micros By Bailey Chassis.
The night was capped off with the 4-cylinder DIRTcar Hornets, with Billy Mason taking the victory over defending division champion Allan Harris.
