Ohio’s Millstream Speedway Gets New Owners

FINDLAY, Ohio — There is a glimmer of hope that Millstream Speedway may get new life.

The three-eighths-mile dirt track has been sold to Matt and Beth Cogley, who confirmed their company, MS Properties, purchased the facility from Greg and Mary Beth Roe, who have owned it in recent years.

Beth Cogley confirmed the purchase on social media.

“First, we want to thank Greg and Mary Beth Roe for trusting us with this jewel,” Beth Cogley wrote. “Secondly, we want to thank all of you who have posted your hopes for this track over the last few days. It’s great to know that we have a strong base of interest out there!”

Matt Cogley has raced Lighting Sprints and 360 sprint cars in Ohio and Michigan in recent years.

“We may not have been a racing family for as long as some of you have, but we know the history behind Millstream and our main goal is to honor that history – and to continue to improve upon it,” Beth Cogley continued.

Millstream Speedway opened as a five-eighths-mile track in 1954 and was shortened to three-eighths-mile in 1960. It operated regularly through 1999, reopened again in 2008 and closed in 2011. Since then, the track has opened for select shows here and there, including a stint during the 2015 and 2016 seasons under the direction of Randy and Lisa Hammer.

In addition to Millstream Speedway, the track has also been known as Flag City Speedway and Findlay Speedway.

The Cogleys understand there is a lot to be done before racing can resume on the Millstream property.

“One important thing is that we don’t want to make promises we can’t keep, so at this point we aren’t making any promises about seasons or schedules,” Cogley wrote on social media. “We have a lot of work to do on the facility before it is ready to host an event. We are calling on all of you who have expressed an interest in getting it going again to get in contact with us and get involved so that we can get her back up and running as soon as possible.

“We’re going to need all the help we can get.”

The World of Outlaws, USAC, All Star Circuit of Champions and various late model touring series have competed at Millstream Speedway through the years.
