It’s Tyler Blank In Double X Sprint Car Run

CALIFORNIA, Mo. – Tyler Blank came out on top of a field of 21 winged sprint cars to win $2,000 Sunday night at Double X Speedway.

The 25-lap main event at the quarter-mile clay oval got off to a rough start, with Jack Wagner in the No. 77 Jack Hockett Racing machine lined up on the pole alongside Garrett Williamson. After an opening-lap melee caused a complete restart, Wagner set sail with sixth-starting Evan Martin advancing quickly to second place.

The running order stayed like that until a lap-seven restart saw Williamson move back into the number two position. One lap later, Blank and Miles Paulus took over the third and fourth positions, relegating Martin to fifth.

Blank gained second following a lap-10 restart and began reeling in the leader, Wagner.  Leaving turn four on lap 16, Wagner missed his mark slightly, allowing Blank to make the pass for the lead down the front stretch.

Blank survived a restart on lap 23 and kept his pursuers at bay to claim the victory. Wagner finished second, Williamson was third, Martin crossed fourth and Paulus completed the top five.

Taylor Walton, Samuel Wagner, Jonathan Cornell, Tyler Elliott and Billy Butler closed the top 10.

Heat races were claimed by Jack Wagner, Williamson and Austin Alumbaugh.

Winners in other divisions included Terry Schultz (B Modifieds), John Clancy Jr. (Street Stocks) and Kyle Smith (Hobby Stocks).
